A link currently circulating on WhatsApp and other social media platforms claims that Coca-Cola is celebrating its 140th anniversary by giving out free gifts, including an Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max (256GB). The link directs users to https://nryf.xyz/CokePrizes-2026 and promises instant rewards after answering a few questions. This claim is false and misleading.

How the Scam Works

When users click the link, they are greeted with a message claiming:

“Congratulations! On the occasion of the 140th Anniversary, you have been chosen among the few to receive a free gift from Coca-Cola.”

They are then asked:

  • “Are you a Coca-Cola fan?” (Yes/No)

  • To select a mystery gift box with “3 attempts”

  • They are guaranteed to “win” a prize, often an expensive item like an iPhone 17 Pro Max

After “winning,” victims are asked to enter their name and phone number, then instructed to:

Share with 5 WhatsApp groups or 20 friends before they can “claim” the prize.

This structure is a classic viral phishing scam.

Verification

No Official Announcement by Coca-Cola
A review of Coca-Cola’s official website and verified social media pages shows no announcement of a 140th anniversary giveaway, gift campaign, or iPhone promotion. Coca-Cola typically runs promotions through official channels and clearly states terms and conditions. They do not use random links shared on WhatsApp.

Suspicious Domain Name
The link nryf.xyz is not an official Coca-Cola domain. Coca-Cola’s legitimate websites use domains such as:

  • coca-cola.com

  • coca-colacompany.com

Random domains like .xyz are frequently used by scammers because they are cheap and easy to abandon after abuse.

Unrealistic Giveaway Claims
Offering high-end products like an iPhone 17 Pro Max (a device not even officially released) to random users is unrealistic. Scammers use luxury items to lure victims into engaging with the scheme.

Forced Sharing Is a Red Flag
The instruction to share with 5 groups or 20 friends before claiming the prize is a known manipulation tactic. Legitimate companies do not require people to spam their contacts in order to receive gifts.

What the Scam Is Really Doing

These fake prize pages are designed to:

  • Harvest personal data (names, phone numbers, sometimes email addresses)

  • Force users to spread the scam by sharing it on WhatsApp

  • Redirect victims to other scam pages, ads, or malware sites

  • In some cases, later demand “processing” or “delivery” fees

Once your phone number is collected, it may be sold to other scammers or used for future fraud attempts.

The Facts

  • Coca-Cola is not running a 140th anniversary giveaway through nryf.xyz.

  • Coca-Cola is not giving out iPhones via WhatsApp links.

  • The “gift box” game is pre-programmed to always show a win to manipulate users.

  • The link is part of a phishing and viral scam network.

Verdict: ❌ Scam

The so-called “Coca-Cola 140th Anniversary Celebration Gifts” promotion is fake. The website and its claims are designed to deceive, harvest data, and spread further scams.
